Summary Schools should have sought approval before raising fee, Education Minister said

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The negotiations between the government and private school owners over increased fee ended without conclusion even on the second day, Dunya News reported.

The Minister for Education Balighul Rehman said that the schools should have sought approval as per the law before raising the fee.

According to details, a session to review the matter headed by the Education Minister took place in Islamabad on Thursday in which private school owners participated. Talking to the media after the meeting, Rehman said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif took the notice of the matter and assigned him the responsibility to investigate.

He said the private schools can be bound as per the law and that the schools should have taken approval from the authorities before raising the fee.

The minister said that as per the Article 25-A, it is government’s responsibility to give free education to children from five to sixteen years of ages.
