Summary Reforms in education system, eliminating word 'religious terrorism' from 21st amendment agreed upon

ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Ulema of all the sects have on Monday assured Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif of following the National Action Plan. The meeting also agreed upon reforms in entire education system and elimination of the word ‘religious terrorism’ from the 21st amendment, reported Dunya News.

According to details, a high level meeting was presided over by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in which matters related to registration of the seminaries were discussed. Army Chief General Raheel Sharif and a delegation of Tanzeemaat Ittehad al-Madaaris also attended the meeting. Prime Minister asked the religious scholars to cooperate in cleansing the country of crime and terrorism.

PM said that the operation in North Waziristan has seen more success than expected and the terrorists are on the run.

The scholars assured of following the National Action Plan and education reforms across the board, not just in seminaries, and elimination of the word ‘religious terrorism’ were agreed upon. The attendants were given detailed briefing over the activities of the foreign elements trying to weaken Pakistan. The Ulema also assured the government of their cooperation in this regard.
