BEIJING (Web Desk) - President Mamnoon Hussain and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping held a meeting in Beijing on Wednesday to discuss the aspects of bilateral relations, cooperation, regional and global security situation.
Both sides have expressed determination to complete the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project within the set time frame.
The CPEC project worth $46 billion is being established between Pakistan s southern Gwadar port on the Arabian Sea and China s western Xinjiang region.
During the meeting, President Mamnoon Hussain described Pakistan and China as ‘iron brothers.’
He said Pakistan is successfully conducting Operation Zarb-e-Azb against terrorists and special measures have been taken for the security of Chinese nationals in Pakistan.
President Mamnoon arrived in China on Tuesday on a four-day official visit at the invitation of President Xi Jinping.
During the visit, the President will attend the military parade being held in Beijing in respect of World War II.
According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, Mamnoon Hussain s visit would further consolidate the existing "all-weather" relations between Pakistan and China in all areas of importance, especially political, economic and strategic.
