LAHORE (Dunya News) – A decision of not extending the tenure of judges appointed at as many as three Punjab election tribunals was challenged in Lahore High Court (LHC) today (Monday), Dunya News reported.

During the hearing, plaintiff’s lawyers alleged that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has illegally refused to extend tenure of Punjab tribunals judges for announcing verdict against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government.

He said that this act of ECP has revealed that it has links with PML-N.

Subsequently, the court has sought appointment notification of tribunals judges on September 2.
