Summary Qaim Ali Shah says it's a state not a jungle; FIA has no right to interfere in provincial matters
KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Enraged over former Federal Minister for Petroleum Dr. Asim’s arrest, Chief Minister (CM) Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has on Friday declared the raids in Sindh as attacks on the province. He said that Pakistan is a state, not a jungle. He said that Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has no right to interfere in provincial matters, reported Dunya News.
Talking to media after inaugurating Mehran Underpass on Faisal Avenue, CM Sindh said that he asked Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif why ‘attacks’ on Sindh were being carried out. He said that attacks have been carried out over Sindh in the past as well. “Does corruption exist only in Sindh? I wasn’t informed about Dr. Asim’s arrest beforehand while the Rangers is supposed to work under me”, said the CM. He said that Dr. Asim’s designation is equivalent to a minister as he is the Chairman of Higher Education Commission (HEC) Sindh.
“I have talked to Corps Commander Karachi and DG Rangers over Dr. Asim’s arrest. DG Rangers said he had proofs against Dr. Asim”, he said.
CM Sindh wondered if law existed in Pakistan or we were just living under the rules of a jungle. “Revenue and land department documents were searched in Civic Center. FIA and National Accountability Bureau (NAB) raided Civic Center. FIA has no right to interfere in provincial matters”, he added.
