Summary The registrar office of the top court had made an objection on Khaliq's plea
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan on Thursday has rejected plea seeking inclusion of names of provincial president of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid-e-Azam (PML-Q) Pervez Elahi, former director general (DG)of ISI Hamid Gul and former DG Intelligence Bureau (IB) Ijaz Shah in Benazir Bhutto murder case.
A plea was filed in the SC by Advocate Kulsoom Khaliq requesting court to take action of United Nations (UN) investigative report in Benazir’s murder. The petition urged the SC to mention Elahi, Gul and Shah in the case.
The registrar office of the top court had made an objection on Khaliq’s plea saying that it is not a case of public interest and she should approach the forum concerned. The petitioner put forth an appeal against registrar office’s reservation stating that Benazir was a national and public figure who was murdered.
Justice Jawwad S Khawaja held hearing of the matter in his chamber today. He rejected the plea upholding registrar office’s objection.
