Human trafficking group busted in Karachi, three children recovered

KARACHI (Dunya News) – West zone police on Thursday has conducted an operation in Frontier Colony of Orangi Town and arrested at least three criminals belonging to a human trafficking group recovering as many as three children safely.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) West Azfar Mehsar held a press conference.

He said that the police raided Frontier Colony on a tip-off and apprehended trafficking group’s leader Abdul Ghani alias Yousaf among three criminals. The group used to sell children for Rs 40,000 each in Quetta after promises of providing jobs.

The SSP said that the children were exploited sexually also. The children recovered said that they were told of jobs in hotels for Rs 20,000 to Rs 25,000.

The police said that the arrested culprits Yousaf, Shahbaz and Sikandar were also involved in several cases of killings and dacoities.

The criminals have confessed to murders in Gulistan Johar, Mehmoodabad and Ferozabad.
