Summary Rains are wreaking havoc throughout the country, Pak army also at forefront in relief activities

PESHAWAR: (Dunya News) – Rains have been wreaking havoc in the country yet again and Nullah Budhni overflew on Sunday to add to the miseries of the Peshawar residents. Situation went worse when the water broke into the houses of the residents. Pakistan army arrived at the scene and started relief activities, reported Dunya News.

Although the rain on Sunday morning brought the temperature down in Peshawar, it created new problems for the citizens at rainwater filled the roads creating problems for the traffic flow. As the rainwater from Khyber Agency arrived in Nullah Budhni, the Nullah overflew and people started evacuating the area as the water level kept rising.

The houses situated along the Nullah Budhni were also affected by the water. Police arrived on the scene and closed down the Charsaddah Road for traffic, suspending even the pedestrian traffic on the road. City administration has also started constructing a bridge but the citizens blamed the administration for slow pace of work on the bridge.

Army’s team also arrived on the scene due to emergency situation and suspended the road for traffic for a while.

City administration has also announced to start operation against the encroachments along the Nullah Budhni. Provincial Disaster Management has also started taking measures in this regard.

Land link to various areas also remained suspended due to the rain and electricity was also suspended. Police and rescue teams are also at the forefront along with the army in relief activities.
