LAHORE (Dunya News) – A minor girl died while an infant got hurt after a roof of an old house collapsed on Saturday. The district government has appealed the citizens to vacate the worn-out houses amid the heavy rains, Dunya News reported.
According to details, the rain in Gujarpura area early morning left the roof of a house belonging to Kamal Masih collapsed which buried two children underneath. Out of those two children, a minor girl died while the other one was critically injured.
The rescue team arrived at the sight and moved them to the hospital where 7-year-old Alizeh succumbed to injuries while her cousin Dayim is still receiving treatment.
According to the family, the children were playing in the room when they heard a loud bang. The girl’s death has left the whole family shaken to the core.
Upon getting information of the incident, the District Coordination Officer (DCO) Lahore reached on the occasion and condoled with the family. He said that the citizens should refrain from living in worn-out houses whereas the district government is also carrying out a crackdown against worn down buildings and houses.
