ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has now been authorized to hold a suspect in custody for questioning for as many as ninety days, a notification in this regard was issued on Saturday.

According to details, the notification says that FIA has been given additional authority after amendment in FIA Act 1974 after parliament’s approval.

The FIA, however, will be bound to show the arrest in records during the time of investigation. The agency has also been given the authority to transfer the suspect to police or any other law enforcement institutions after completing the investigation.
