ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Islamabad`s Additional District and Sessions Court on Friday issued non-bailable arrest warrant for former president Pervez Musharraf in a case related to the killing of cleric Ghazi Abdul Rasheed and his mother following a military raid on Islamabad s Lal Masjid in 2007, Dunya News reported.
District and Session Judge Kamran Basharat Mufti announced the decision.
The court had reserved verdict in the case on Thursday after hearing arguments of the respondents.
In its verdict today, the court issued non-bailable arrest warrant for the former military ruler and directed the authorities to present the accused in court on July 24.
Musharraf, who returned from his self-imposed exile before the general elections, is currently entangled in a legal web. He is currently leaving in Karachi and can t leave the country as his name has been put on the Exit Control LIst (ECL).
