DERA ISMAIL KHAN (Dunya News) – Enraged traders on Thursday forced locals to close down shops as demonstration of protest after a fellow shop-owner was gunned down earlier.

On June 16, Afghan traders picked a fight with local shop-owners on a paltry quarrel between their kids in Gomal Market. By Wednesday the fight intensified after two armed groups clashed killing a fellow while injuring seven people.

A group favouring the killed trader burnt tyres on Circular Road and Banu Adda and blocked the roads. The enraged protesters forced the locals to close down shops and join the protest. The people also opened aerial fire infront of the Rescue 15 team.

The police used tear gas and resorted to baton charge to disperse the protesters.

However, the City Police have registered a case against 120 violent protesters.
