Summary KMC has geared up to counter heavy rains at the coastal areas of Karachi.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – A phase of heavy rains are expected to lash at the adjoining areas of Sindh and Balochistan coast as tropical storm ‘Ashobhaa’ will target Oman in coming days, Dunya News reported on Wednesday.
The storm is advancing with a speed of 74 km per hour towards Oman whereas the Ashobhaa would also intensify after meeting with dry winds in Arabian Sea.
On the other hand, local government has geared up to counter heavy rains in Karachi as Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has determined as many as 47 areas to get more affected by the weather condition.

The residents said that they can’t rely on district administration as the officials have failed to clean the nullahs.
They added that two years earlier the rainstorm also caused devastation due to the negligence of concerning departments, therefore, they can’t trust the steps taken by the authorities.
