KARACHI (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Haider Abbas Rizvi said on Thursday that Karachi is being treated like a step-child. He said that minimal resources are being provided to the city while the demand for resources is high, reported Dunya News.

Under the leadership of MQM leaders, a protest was taken out at Hassan Square, Karachi.

Speaking at the occasion, MQM leader Haider Abbas Rizvi said that people of Karachi are being treated unfairly under the pretext of division of resources.

The MQM leader said Karachi has been treated as a step-child from the beginning.

Underlining the importance of the city, Haider Abbas Rizvi said that nearly 3 to 5 crore of Sindh’s population lives in Karachi adding that more water resources should be provided to the city in accordance with its population.

Various leaders of MQM also addressed the rally at the occasion and demanded from the provincial and central government to provide the city with appropriate resources and take interest in the problems of the city.

MQM leaders said that if masses do not get relief then government will be responsible.

Despite being the largest city of Pakistan, said MQM leaders, Karachi does not possess mass-transit system.
