LAHORE (Daily Dunya) – Pakistan Awami Tehreek’s (PAT) central president Raheeq Abbasi on Thursday said that Pakistan is ‘drowned’ in the darkness of load shedding and poverty despite being a nuclear power, adding that those who claimed to spark economic explosion have actually blown up the economy.

Addressing a PAT session, Abbasi alleged that the government has ‘blown up’ the economy by taking foreign debt.

“The atomic bomb was created by the scientists but the budget is prepared by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) every year”, he said.

“Pakistan could not get rid of economic slavery even after 65 years.”

He claimed the literacy rate dropped by 2% in two year tenure of Sharif government which, he said, is a cause of shame for country’s rulers.

PAT leader said ever since the rulers that celebrate Youm-e-Takbir have come into power, the hoarding mafia is slaughtering people on daily basis. He said 15% ‘illogical’ increase in edible items has taken place before Ramazan and the so called ‘producers and directors’ of nuclear bomb remain unmoved.

He said the people want justice, employment and self-respect, adding that the honour of being an atomic country won’t feed the poor. Abbasi said the wheel of progress is running in reverse direction ever since Sharifs have come into power.
