Summary Polling invoice can be tallied with the Form-5 to determine whether elections were rigged or not
LAHORE: (Daily Dunya) – Lawyers of the political parties have so far not been able to bring any proofs before the judicial commission that would help conclude the rigging saga. No such proofs have yet been presented which would clearly tell whether rigging took place in General Election 2013 or not. However, such a trump card could have been the polling invoice, tallying which with the Form-5 can make a decisive impact, reported Daily Dunya.
Polling invoice is a document that is prepared by the Returning Officer (RO) himself. An RO registers the number of ballot papers, their serial numbers, number of irremovable magnetic ink pads, serial numbers of the electoral lists and the details of the other electoral material and their quantities in the polling invoice. They put one copy of this invoice in the polling bag, give one to the Presiding Officer by hand and keep one with them.
Commenting on the matter, former Secretary Election Commission Kanwar Dilshad said that judicial commission still has the chance to demand this invoice. He said that polling invoice can play the decisive role in the rigging probe.
