Summary The terrain in Balochistan hinders the police operations
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) on Wednesday has expressed resentment over police negligence in arrests of the culprits who raped at least two women and killed another.
A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice (CJ) Nasirul Mulk held hearing of the case of a woman’s murder and rapes in Sindh. Jacobabad Superintendent of Police (SP) Zafar Iqbal said that the criminal has fled to Balochistan after killing his wife. However, police is after both the criminals, Ghulam Fareed and Waqar, he added.
The court expressed resentment over SP’s statement and asked him about the number of days police need to catch the miscreants. Iqbal said that the terrain in Balochistan hinders the police operations and asked the SCP to grant one-month time.
On the other hand, Ghotki Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Arbab Ali said that a criminal, Noor Hassan has been arrested for raping mother and daughter whereas the other criminal in the case is at large.
The SCP postponed the hearing of the cases until June 10.
