ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Sources have revealed that Khawaja Saad Rafique is likely to be appointed as advisor to the Prime Minister (PM) on Railways, Dunya News reported on Thursday.

According to details, the final announcement will be made by PM Nawaz Sharif.

Moreover, the reason behind the decision is said to maintain the consistency of successful policies of railway.

Earlier, the Election Commission of Pakistan de-notified Khawaja Saad Rafique from NA-125 constituency of Lahore with immediate effect.

The step was taken in the light of election tribunal’s May 4th decision.

The Railways Minister was unseated by the election tribunal after several irregularities were found in NA-125 polls during 2013 general elections.

Saad Rafique denied the accusations of irregularities, saying election organisers were responsible and he would challenge the ruling in the Supreme Court.
