Summary Attackers fled as police fired back at them; they had also thrown grenades on Rao Anwar
KARAHCI: (Dunya News, Web Desk) – Former SSP Malir Rao Anwar has on Saturday escaped a murder attempt in Karachi on Malir Link Road. The attackers also threw a grenade on him but he somehow survived the attack, reported Dunya News.
According to details, Rao Anwar was moving with his convoy when a group of unidentified men attacked him with grenades. However, Rao remained unscathed in the attack. The attackers fled after the police team fired back at them.
Five of the attackers died in police’s firing while search operation is being carried out in the area for arresting the others.
Rao Anwar said that he was attacked when he was going to inspect the scene where DSP Abdul Fatah Muhammad was attacked. He said that one of the attackers who died in police’s firing looked like a member of Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) by appearance.
