Summary PM has ordered inquiry and immediate arrest of the culprits

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday strongly condemned the murder of Karachi University’s (KU) Assistant Professor Waheed-ur-Rehman and have ordered immediate arrest of the culprits after an inquiry.

According to details, PM Nawaz has summoned a report from Sindh government over the murder. He expressed condolences with the bereaved family of the slain professor.

Sharif said the government is making serious efforts to eliminate terrorism in Karachi.

Former president Asif Ali Zardari also condemned the murder and demanded the government to bring culprits to justice.

Assistant Professor gunned down

An assistant professor of the University of Karachi was shot dead in Federal B. area on Wednesday, Dunya News reported.

Dr Syed Waheed-ur-Rahman was killed when unidentified gunmen riding a motorcycle opened fire on his car. The suspects managed to flee the scene soon after the attack.

The victim was an instructor at the Mass Communication department.

In protest against the incident, university students blocked main road and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits. Educational activities at the university were also suspended.
