Summary One battalion of FC and forty five thousand policemen will be deployed for security duty

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has decided to deploy army for security during the local government elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Dunya News reported.

According to details, one battalion of Frontier Corps (FC) and as many as forty five thousand policemen will be deployed during the election.

The session regarding local government election in the KP province took place in Islamabad and was chaired by Chief Election Commissioner.

The Election Commission will soon contact the Interior Ministry regarding the recommendation. All institutions including the Defense Ministry have assured their support.

Secretary Election Commission told in the meeting that the number of registered voters is thirteen million thirty two thousand seven hundred fifty nine.

It was further decided that as many as eleven thousand one hundred and seventeen polling stations will be established for the local government elections. The KP government is determining the sensitive and extremely sensitive polling stations.

Secretary Election Commission said that one lakh three thousand five hundred twenty two nomination papers have been received out of which ninety three thousand two hundred thirty one have been accepted.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has three thousand three hundred thirty nine Union Councils and election will take place on a total of thirty nine thousand eight hundred six seats.
