Summary Power still not restored in the areas hit by rain after two days, serious shortage of water as well
PESHAWAR: (Dunya News) – Power has still not been restored in the rain-affected areas of Peshawar on Tuesday. Two days have already passed without electricity in these areas and now there is serious shortage of water as well now. Rain victims are still waiting for the government aid, reported Dunya News.
The areas of Peshawar which still do not have power restored include Wahid Garhi, Badhui Samar Bagh, Pakha Ghulam, Khazana and adjacent areas. Water shortage has also been created now in these areas due to which the residents are facing serious problems.
Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KP) government has set up a committee under the headship of DG PDMA to estimate the losses caused to the crops and houses by the rainstorm. However, this committee has not started working yet. People are trying to rebuild their houses on their own.
The district administration has declared 59 union councils of Peshawar as sensitive due to the rain and flood threats. Administration has also told the citizens to stay alert.
45 lives were lost while 210 has been injured in Peshawar, Charsada and Nowshehra due to rainstorm.
