ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The catastrophic storm in Peshawar also dubbed ‘mini cyclone’ has exposed the performance of Metrological Department as the National Disaster Management Authority on Tuesday said that the Met Department did not alert or issue forecast of the deadly storm. NDMA said it received advisory after the storm.
According to details, the NDMA spokesperson said that the Met Department issued advisory after the storm saying that a storm has struck and destruction has taken place.
Analyzing the situation, the experts have said that unlike western countries Pakistan’s Met Department does not have such a technologically advanced system that could correctly forecast the nature of a storm.
