ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Senate on Wednesday unanimously adopted a memorial resolution on the death of Awami National Party (ANP) leader, Senator Azam Khan Hoti, Dunya News reported.
According to details, the Senate meeting was presided over by Chairman Raza Rabbani in which fateha was offered for the departed soul.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Iqbal Zafar Jhagra presented a condolence resolution on the death of Azam Khan Hoti in which condolences were expressed with the family of the departed soul.
On this occasion, Imran Balour stated that Azam Khan Hoti was a great man and gave many sacrifices for the country whereas Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Farhatullah Babar said that Azam Khan Hoti faced hardships of imprisonment with valour and strength.
Chairman Senate expressed that the day is of immense grief as a great ideological leader has passed away.
He said that Azam Khan Hoti never changed party loyalty whereas such culture should prevail in Pakistan wherein party workers remain with the party in good and bad times.
Senate meeting was postponed in mourning of the departed soul till 10:15 a.m. next morning.
ANP leader Senator Azam Khan Hoti’s funeral will be held at 4 pm today in Mardan.
Hoti served as federal minister twice in the Nawaz Sharif government. He was elected as a senator for the first time in 1993 andagain in 2012.
He was the father of former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) chief minister (CM) Ameer Haider Hoti and brother of Begum Naseem Wali Khan.
