LAHORE (Dunya News) – Expired pulses are being sold all over Punjab by hoarding mafia, causing health worries over the breadth of province, reported Dunya News.
According to details, government had ordered reduction in price of pulses but the hoarding mafia has caused an artificial shortage due to which the prices have sky-rocketed.
The price of pulse which had been set at 150 rupees has gone up to 200 rupees per kilogram.
According to sources, the hoarding mafia has been created an artificial shortage and in the process has started mixing batches of expired pulse.
The pretext given by the mafia for the shortage is the excessive export from Pakistan to Afghanistan which has allegedly created a gap in supply, it is learned.
The competent authorities have failed to take notice of the matter so far as the local and federal government has kept silence on the proceedings.
