ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Sunday decided to hold fresh intraparty elections and said that the decision to go back to assemblies will be taken after the judicial commission to probe alleged election rigging is formed.
Addressing the media after party’s core committee’s meeting, PTI vice chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that PTI, while accepting recommendations of Justice (retd) Wajihuddin’s intraparty election tribunal, has decided to dissolve all party committees, adding that the interim committees will be announced by party chief Imran Khan in next few days.
He said PTI will take the decision of going back to the assemblies after the government holds its end of the bargain and forms the promised judicial commission to probe alleged election fraud.
PTI’s core committee session took place at Imran Khan’s residence in Bani Gala.
Qureshi said that the representatives of NADRA, Election Commission and FIA in judicial commission will be decided upon mutual agreements and that the MI and ISI can also be consulted if need be.
