Summary 8 hours of load shedding in urban and 10 hours in rural areas is being carried out at present
LAHORE (Daily Dunya) – Like most cities in the country, Punjab provincial capital Lahore is witnessing a rise in electricity load shedding ahead of the summer season, much to citizens’ dismay.
According to details, authorities are seeing a rise in complaints of electricity load shedding with summer just around the corner. The citizens are expressing the fear of situation’s worsening, saying that summer hasn’t even started and 7-8 hours of load shedding is being carried out already.
The water shortage due to the electricity load shedding is also reported in various areas of the city. National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC) sources said that approximately 9300 megawatt electricity was being produced as of Saturday whereas the demand was 13,600 megawatt.
The difference between demand and supply has caused up to eight hours of load shedding in urban while up to ten hours of load shedding in rural areas.
