LAYYAH (Dunya news) – A 5 year old girl named Safia Bibi on Friday was ordered by the local jury of a village to be given in Wani. Layia’s resident Saleem had fled with a girl named Rehana residing in his neighborhood to marry her 2 days before. A local jury was held in this regard during which the 5 year old child’s uncle Hazoor Buksh and an influential personality of the area named Alumdar Shah acted as head of the jury.
The jury declared 5 year old Safia Bibi to be married to 8 year old Azhar. The marriage registrar Qari Mohammad Abdullah then proceeded to tie the young couple in wedlock .
The police of Karor Lal Esan raided the jury upon being given the report of the incident. The police took into custody the jury’s head Hazoor Buksh, the small girl’s father Manzoor Hussain and the witnesses of the marriage.
