LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday has admitted petition against Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif in the Youth Loan Scheme case in accordance with the Article 6. The court has dispatched notices to the federal government, Director General (DG) Immigration, Foreign Ministry and Inspector General (IG) Punjab.

Justice Aminuddin and Justice Sohail Iqbal Bhatti held hearing of the case. The counsel for the petitioner said that the appointment notification of Maryam Nawaz as chairperson of Youth Loan Scheme issued by PM Nawaz is unconstitutional. Maryam Nawaz’s name on her passport and National Identity Card (NIC) is Maryam Safdar, he added. The counsel maintained that the notification should have been issued for the name Maryam Safdar.

Moreover, he demanded the court to start legal proceedings against Nawaz Sharif under Article 6. The court has ordered submission of reply on May 20.
