Summary "Called as traitors whenever we talk about our rights:" Altaf Hussain
KARACHI (Dunya news) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain on Thursday stated that the establishment has been displeased with MQM for the past 40 years. Hussain stated that Pakistan’s Prime Minister and leader of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Nawaz Sharif raised the slogan of ‘Jaag Punjabi Jaag’. Mehmood Achakzai talks about partitioning Balochistan into two. Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) leaders Benazir Bhutto and Asif Ali Zardari were proud to call themselves Sindhi. Hussain then asked that doesn’t Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) chairman Imran Khan call himself a Pathan.
The MQM chief expressed these views while addressing workers gathered at Nine Zero to celebrate MQM candidates’ success in Senate elections.
Hussain stated that they are called as traitors whenever they talk about their rights. He stated that MQM workers are arrested on unjustified grounds.
Hussain stated that when they go to the courts they still can’t find justice. He said that even the Supreme Court of Pakistan has said that all political parties have militant groups so what is the fault of Mahajirs.
Hussain stated that a clear statement should then be given that MQM should be banned.
