PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - Second phase of Sehat Ka Ittehad campaign is underway in Khyber Pukhtunkhwa (KPK) and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), Dunya News reported on Monday.
During the campaign, polio drops will be administered to 27,71,456 children in 21 districts of the province for which at least 7221 mobile teams, 761 fixed teams, 227 transit and 620 area teams have been formed while in Peshawar more than 7000 teams have been organized which will inoculate polio drops to more than seven lac children.
Moreover, the district administration has imposed two-day ban on motorcycle riding under section-144. Strict security arrangements are in place to ensure safety of polio workers.
Sehat Ka Ittehad is a comprehensive and effective polio vaccination campaign launched to eradicate the disease from KPK and FATA.
This campaign has started simultaneously in nook and corner of KPK and FATA to reach each and every child under 5 years of age with special focus on IDPs’ children.
On the other hand, the anti-polio campaign has been temporarily suspended in Quetta due to lack of adequate security.
According to District Health Officer (DHO) Quetta Dr Shah Jahan Panezai, all the arrangements of the anti-polio campaign have been made whereas it will be started as soon as security is provided to the polio team.
