Summary The SIMs that have not yet been verified will start getting blocked from midnight tonight
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – It is the last day (Thursday) to get the SIMs verified with thumb-impression in Pakistan for all those who have three or more SIMs registered against their National ID card, according to Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA). All the unverified SIMs of such people will start getting blocked from midnight tonight.
The second phase of the verification of SIMs will start from tomorrow (February 27, 2015) in which the SIMs owned by people who have two or less SIMs registered against their names will be verified. This phase will continue till April 13. After that, all the unverified SIMs will be blocked.
According to PTA sources, more than sixty million SIMs have been verified so far while more than ten million have been blocked.
PTA sources told that the blocked SIMs will be unblocked after thumb-verification.
