Summary 116 candidates filed papers for general seats, 28 on women seats, 26 on technocrats, 12 on minority
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – 182 candidates have filed nomination papers for senate elections according to Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), Dunya News reported. 116 candidates have filed their papers for general seats, 28 on women seats, 26 on technocrats and 12 on minority seats.
Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) has filed most number of candidates i.e. 32. Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) remained second with 19 while Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has fielded 11 candidates. 64 candidates have filed their nomination papers independently.
Elections for 52 vacant seats of the senate will be held on March 5, 2015.
