Summary In-charge MQM Sector Mehmoodabad Rafique Rajpoot has been sent on 90-day remand by court
KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Anti-Terror Court (ATC) has on Monday given the custody of the 12-May suspect Rafique Rajpoot to Rangers on 90-day remand. Rafique Rajpoot aka ‘Kaiyaan’ (Cunning) was the in-charge of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Sector Mehmoodabad.
The 12-May suspect was brought to the court amid strict security arrangements. 5 Rangers’ cars and 12 bike-riders came to the court along with the car bringing Rafique Rajpoot.
Rangers’ lawyer told the court that the suspect had confessed involvement in 12 May incident and other criminal activities. He requested 90-day remand of the accused so that he could be investigated.
Rafique’s lawyer Muhammad Jewani requested the court on this occasion that his client’s physical condition did not seem right and demanded his medical check-up. Court ordered Jewani to submit request for medical check-up which he did.
The court handed over Rafique Rajpoot to the Rangers on 90-day remand. Rangers’ officials said that Rafique Rajpoot was arrested by Rangers’ Special Task Force and presented before the court. He said that the suspect was an employee of the State Bank and therefore, the bank had been informed of his criminal record.
