Summary Petrol shortage has nothing to do with financial affairs of the country, says Minister for Petroleum
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Minister for Petroleum Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Monday has said that he the petrol crisis would be contained within the ongoing week. He said that among all the people responsible for the countrywide petrol shortage, he is at the top of the list.
He expressed these views in a press conference.
He said that some cities of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) are facing petrol shortage. He said that double the amount of petrol was supplied today than January 18 (yesterday). He said that the Prime Minister (PM) has taken notice of the petrol shortage. Abbasi said that the people of the country bought petrol more than the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) after the reduction in prices.
While answering a question, he said that the meeting chaired by the PM discussed the issues regarding the petrol crisis. The minister also said that the petrol price would reduce by more than Rs 5 starting from February 1. He said that a high-level committee has been formed to point out the culprits responsible for the petrol shortage.
He said that the petrol shortage has nothing to do with the financial affairs of the country. No marketing company has gone bankrupt, he added.
