ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday has announced the schedule of holding of Senate election. The election will be held on March 3 2015 while February 12 and February 13 are the dates to submit nomination papers.

According to the details, the process of scrutiny will be held on February 16 and February 17. In case of rejection of nomination papers, the appeals will be submitted to the Secretary ECP on February 20 and February 21. February 25 is the last date to withdraw the nomination papers. The polling will start at 9am on March 3 and will continue until 5pm in the evening. The elections will be supervised by as many as five presiding officers.

Moreover, the ECP is gearing up for printing of ballot papers. Each province will each be represented by as many as seven general seats, at least two women seats, one cleric seat and one technocrat seat.

The Senators retiring from the posts are Chairman Senate Nayyar Hussain Bukhari, Pervez Rasheed, Babar Ghouri, Chaudhry Shujaat and Abdul Ghafoor Haidri.

The memberships of Afrasiab Khattak, Jahangir Badar, Mushahidullah, Zafar Ali Shah, Raja Zafarul Haq, Rehman Malik, Farooq Naik, Abdul Nabi Bangash, Almas Parveen, Amar Jeet, Begum Najma Hameed, Zafar Iqbal, Abdul Qayyum Soomro, Malik Arshad Khan, Humayyun Khan Mandokhel, Farah Aqil, Gulzar Ahmed Khan, Haji Ghulam Nabi, Haji Khan Afridi, Haji Adeel, Islamuddin Shiekh, Kalsum Parveen, Hasil Khan Bazinjo. Muhammad ali Rind, Muhammad Yousaf, Moula Bakhsh Chantiyo, Idrees Khan Safi, Kazim Khan, Zahid Khan, Nawabzada Akbar Magsi, Professor Sajid Meer, Sabir Ali Baloch, Saeeda Iqbal, Sardar Ali Khan, Yaqoub Nasir Khan, Syeda Sughra Hussain Imam, Waqar Ahmed Khan along with others will also expire.
