Summary Three injured including a media photographer after IJT-police clash turned violent
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) coordination committee members on Friday visited the injured at the Jinnah Hospital after the violent clash between Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba (IJT) members and the police outside the French Consulate in connection with the blasphemous caricatures published by Charlie Hebdo.
According to the details, as many as three locals including a media photographer named Asif Hassan were injured in a violent clash between the police and IJT outside the French Consulate. The injured were shifted to the Jinnah Hospital. The other two injured people include a police official and a civilian.
Jinnah Hospital emergency ward incharge Seemi Jamali said that Hassan received a bullet on his chest however the conditions of the other two are out of danger. MQM coordination committee members Wasay Jalil and Amir Khan were also among the visitors.
While talking to the media, Jalil said that the locals were enraged by using demonstration of protest as a tool. The journalists’ bodies’ authorities also paid visits to the injured to inquire about their condition in the Jinnah Hospital. They demanded strict action against the people responsible after thorough investigations of the matter.
