LAHORE (Dunya News) – Lahore High Court (LHC) abolished the death penalty of two convicts today (Friday) involved in the murder of five people on the basis of insufficient evidence.

During the hearing, the defense lawyer stated that the trial court has already granted death penalty twice to the suspects Yaqoob and Abrar. However, they have no link with the murder case and the original criminals are still at large.The government prosecutor opposed the arguments of the defendant.

However, the court while abolishing the death penalty commuted it to life imprisonment after hearing all the arguments.
