Summary None of the democratic governments have held local body elections, says MQM chief
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain on Thursday has said that the establishment of administrative units is necessary for the stability of democracy and solutions of the problems being faced by the people of the country.
He expressed these views while talking to the European Parliament’s nominated member, Amjad Bashir via telephone at the MQM centre Nine-Zero.
MQM chief said that to strengthen the government’s administration, the formation of administrative units is important. He also said that none of the democratic governments have held local body elections. Hussain further said that the transference of authority to the lower-levels which are easily accessbile to the common man is avoided.
