Summary Electricity distribution companies will start charging back the amount in three installments.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The government has reportedly started taking back the relief that was earlier given to the electricity consumers after massive retaliation against overbilling in July, Dunya News reported.
According to the documents obtained by Dunya News, the electricity distribution companies will start charging back the amount earlier given as relief in three equal installments.
Reportedly, the over-billed amount was reimbursed to the consumers in the months of August and September whereas the reimbursed amount is being taken back through additional charges in the bills.
The government even refused to acknowledge any overbilling ever. The federal Ministry for Water and Power now claims that there was no overbilling in the month of July to begin with.
The audit reports mention the reason of excessive billing as the excessive use of electricity by the consumers.
