Afghan President Ashraf Ghani arrives in Pakistan on 2-day visit

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Afghanistan s newly-elected President Ashraf Ghani arrived in Islamabad today (Friday) to discuss bilateral ties and the security situation.

He was received at the Nur Khan Airbase by Prime Minister s National Security Advisor Sartaj Aziz.

A thirty member delegation including cabinet ministers, high-ranking officials and business representatives are accompanying President Ghani during his visit to Pakistan.

President Ghani is expected to meet with the Pakistani President Manoon Hussain today and will have another meeting with Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Saturday.

Various issues related to the border security will come under discussion during the meetings with the top leadership

Ghani is visiting Pakistan after recent high-level trips by Pakistani officials to Kabul, including Pakistan national security and foreign affairs adviser Sartaj Aziz, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif and the new head of the Inter-Services Intelligence agency Lt Gen Rizwan Akhtar.
