KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Rabita Committee has said that MQM leaders are receiving extortion notices from Taliban and are being threatened via SMS, letters and phone calls that we must stop projecting our ideology and views.
Holding a press conference today (Monday) in Karachi, MQM Deputy Convener Dr. Farooq Sattar said that banned outfits have been threatening MQM leaders of grave consequences in case they did not submit to the pressure. He said that the terrorists want to impose their version of Islam upon us. He said that the last warning was received on 15th of September. The letter sent to MQM leader read, “Send the money within 15 days or you and your family will be sent straight to hell. Nine-Zero (MQM headquarter), your house, your family and everything belonging to MQM will be destroyed”. The seal of banned outfit Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) was also imprinted at the end of the letter, said Sattar showing the letter to the media.
