Summary Terrorists were building an escape tunnel leading to high-valued captives in Central Jail.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Karachi Rangers foiled terrorists’ breakout attempt from the Central Jail today, Dunya News reported.

According to the Rangers’ official Colonel Tahir, they figured out the tunnel that had been built underground from a nearby house in Ghosia Colony guising a water tank leading towards the barracks of high-valued captives in the Central Jail.

The terrorists were just 10 meters away from their target when the Rangers carried out the timely operation and foiled the plot. The terrorists were readily taken into custody for interrogation.

Colonel Tahir said investigation is underway to find out who owned the house and sold it to whom.

He further said cooperation of Karachi citizens holds a pivotal role in Karachi’s operation.

Sindh jails minister Manzoor Wassan said the house belongs to a police officer and 6 policemen had been deployed at the rooftop.

He further ordered to form an investigation committee consisting of Police and Rangers for efficient investigation.
