IMF to release $ 1.1bn to Pakistan in December: Ishaq Dar

Summary Finance Minister discussed trade and economy with finance leaders of China, Britain and Iran.

WASHINGTON (Web Desk) – Finance Minister Ishaq Dar pronounced the release of two International Monetary Fund (IMF) tranches mounting $ 1.1 billion by December on Monday.

IMF would be releasing the two funds simultaneously combining the fourth and fifth reviews of Pakistan’s economic performance.

The Fund said Pakistan’s economic reforms are gaining balance and the Executive Board would approve the combined release when it would meet in early December.

Ishaq dar while talking to the media stated he conducted numerous meetings with financial institutions including World Bank, OPIC, IMF and EXIM Bank as well as with the finance leaders of China, Britain and Iran.

He said he had discussed cooperating in the areas of trade and economy.
