LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Jamaat-i-Islami Head Maulana Sirajul Haq has said that 14 August is a national day and he did not want any blood to be shed on this day.

While talking to media after meeting Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif in Lahore today (Tuesday), Sirajul Haq said that there are political parties on both sides and his objective was only to resolve the crises through political dialogue.

JI Head said that talks with Taliban were carried out a few months back and were supported by entire nation.” Now we want the political parties to have a dialogue”, said former Finance Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KPK).

“We are in touch with all the political parties including Leader of the Opposition and we are consulting all political parties who are playing their role as a mediator”, JI Head said.

Sirajul Haq said, “All the suggestions by both the sides are being talked about. Though, there are people who want the rifts to continue but we are trying to keep the temperatures down.”

JI Chief informed that he had talked to Imran Khan as well. “We want Imran and Qadri to reach to a point where their concerns can be addressed simultaneously”, informed Haq. He said that he did not want dialogue to be closed.

“I am not hopeless”, added JI Head “I am hopeful that a way will be carved out that will not allow the world to laugh at us.”

Sirajul Haq said that Pakistan Muslim League (N) and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf both are in parliament. “As far as Qadri is concerned, I only want to advise him to keep his demands within the constitution”, said Sirajul Haq. He said that protest is everyone’s right but things should be kept within limits of the constitution.
