SWAT (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan said on Thursday that it becomes essential to take to streets for justice if justice cannot be served through the proper channels, adding that his movement will end Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s ‘monarchy’ on August 14, Dunya News reported.
Addressing the opening ceremony of hydal powerhouse as part of ‘Khushhali ki Dastak (Knocking of prosperity)’ program, Khan said Jihad means striving and fighting for rights, adding that his party and supporters are taking to the streets for the purpose of obtaining ‘justice’ and ‘rights’.
Imran Khan said that Pakistan became independent on August 14, 1947, claiming that Pakistan never got the real freedom.
He said his movement will ‘gift’ the freedom to the people of Pakistan on August 14.
Khan said that a trader is currently ruling the country, adding that a trader can rule as a monarch but cannot solve problems of the people.
