Summary The JUI-F chief says that the establishment wants to launch operation in Waziristan.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said it does not make difference whether former president General (r) Pervez Musharraf stays in Pakistan or leaves the country.
Talking to media outside Parliament House on Thursday, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that his party has nothing to do with Musharraf’s case.
Responding to a question, the JUI-F chief termed the negotiation between the government and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) just a drama.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman said JUI-F was ready to play the role in restoration of peace if the government sought support of his party in this regard but the establishment thinks that the Waziristan issue can be solved only by launching operation.
Responding to another question, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that Tahirul Qadri visited the country before this and he can come back as he is a common citizen of Pakistan.
It is to mention here that Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday ordered the government to lift a travel ban on former military ruler Pervez Musharraf in 15 days.
Meanwhile, a local court in Islamabad rejected the petition of Pervez Musharraf seeking exemption from appearance in Abdul Rashid Ghazi murder case.
The court in its ruling ordered Pervez Musharraf to appear on July 1 otherwise action will be taken against his guarantors. The court also summoned guarantors of the former president.
Musharraf has been battling several court cases since he returned to Pakistan last year to fight elections, including treason charges for imposing emergency rule in 2007.
