ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Four units of Mangla Dam Power House that were earlier tripped due to ‘technical fault’ were repaired and restored on Sunday evening. The electricity supply of up to 1000 mega watt is expected to begin by 10pm, Dunya News reported.
According to Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) spokesperson, the repair work is continued and that four out of five units were restored. He said that the units are currently producing 885 megawatt electricity and that with the restoration of fifth unit by 10pm, the system will begin producing up to 1000 megawatt electricity.
WAPDA spokesperson also clarified that contrary to reports, the units were not tripped due to fire eruption, adding that it was due to a technical fault developed by the transformer.
