NEW DELHI (Web Desk) - Meeting between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi has concluded at Hyderabad House, Dunya News reported on Tuesday.
Modi received Sharif at the stately Hyderabad House with warmth, clasping his hands for a few moments as the two leaders posed for photographs.
The two leaders were accompanied by their respective delegations.
During meeting, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif expressed the desire to start a new era of friendship with India with focus on resolving all oustanding issues and bringing peace and prosperity in the region.
He said people of both the countries want cordial and friendly relations and it is an opportunity for their leadership to come up to their expectations.
People of both the countries have given heavy mandate to their leadership which reflect their desire for peace and prosperity, he added.
PM Nawaz said both the countries have wasted precious time and resources which should have been diverted towards peace and stability.
According to Indian media, Prime Minister Narendra Modi raised five points during the meeting.
Modi told PM Nawaz that the trial in Pakistan of those accused in the Mumbai terror attacks was "too slow" and must be expedited.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was one of six regional leaders who attended Narendra Modi s oath ceremony in New Delhi on Monday evening.
Narendra Modi was administered oath of office and secrecy by President Pranab Mukherjee as India s 15th Prime Minister along with his 44-member Cabinet.
