NEW DELHI (Web Desk) - Diplomatic breakthrough on Pakistan-India ties ushers in new era as Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is holding talks with newly-elected Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday.

The leaders shook hands and smiled for the media on the steps of a former palace used by the government for receptions in New Delhi, before heading inside for talks on Modi's first full day in government.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was one of six regional leaders who attended Narendra Modi's oath ceremony in New Delhi on Monday evening.

During today's meeting, the two sides will discuss bilateral relations and regional and international issues. They will explore different options to remove tensions on the Line of Control.

Prime Minister will also meet Indian President Pranab Mukherjee today.
